Let’s set up YouTube Kids.
We’ll guide you, one step at a time.
Open this page on a computer
Use Chrome or Edge on a Windows, Mac, Linux or Chromebook computer. Keep your Fire tablet and USB cable nearby. This setup cannot run on a phone or in Safari or Firefox.

Prepare the tablet
Do these steps on your Fire tablet, in the parent profile.

Install QuickApps from the Amazon Appstore on your own (parent) profile.
Get the app ↗ -
Open Settings › Device Options › About Fire Tablet and tap Serial Number seven times to unlock Developer Options.

In Developer Options switch USB debugging on.

Connect the tablet to this computer with a USB cable.
Use a cable that transfers files, not just one that charges.
Connect the tablet
- Click “Connect tablet” below.
- In the window that opens, choose your Fire tablet and click “Connect”.
- Look at your tablet. If it asks to allow USB debugging, tap “OK” or “Allow”.
My tablet isn’t connecting
Keep the tablet unlocked. Try another USB port or a cable that transfers files. Check that USB debugging is on, then connect again.
Linux: allow USB access
On Linux, allow the tablet once. Run this in a terminal, then unplug and replug the cable:

Choose your child's profile
Tick every child profile that should get YouTube Kids. The ones already used on this tablet are ticked for you.
Select at least one child profile to continue. If none appear, create one in Amazon Kids on your tablet, then reconnect.

YouTube Kids needs four small Google packages. The list below shows what the tablet already has and what this page will add.
Drop APK or bundle files here
Keep this page open and the USB cable connected. Your tablet will restart when setup finishes.
One last step on your tablet
The tablet is restarting. One last step on the tablet, because Amazon Kids only shows apps you have shared with the child:
- Open your child's profile and tap the gear (Settings for parents) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Manage Content › Shared from your library, enter your parent PIN.
- Under Apps, switch QuickApps on, then go back to the child's home screen.
QuickApps now appears on the Kids home screen and YouTube Kids is already in its Favorites.
The first time YouTube Kids opens you will be asked to sign in with your Google account and set up the child's profile inside YouTube Kids.
Forgot the QuickApps parent PIN?
Pick the profile where QuickApps asks for the PIN and click the button. Only the PIN is removed: apps, favorites and settings stay as they are. Set a new PIN in QuickApps afterwards. Needs QuickApps 2.0 or newer on that profile.
