Will it work on my Fire tablet?
Every Amazon Fire tablet from 2017 on, each with the newest YouTube Kids its Fire OS can run.

Do I need a computer?
Yes, once: a Windows, Mac, Linux or Chromebook computer with Chrome or Edge, and a USB cable. Phones, Safari and Firefox cannot talk to the tablet.
Can I choose which apps appear?
Everything new starts hidden until you allow it. Stores, browsers, settings and file managers always start hidden.
I forgot the parent PIN.
Connect the tablet to the setup page and use Reset parent PIN. Only the PIN is removed; apps, favorites and settings stay.

Is this allowed?
Yes. It uses Android's own developer tools (USB debugging) and Google's official packages, signed by Google. Nothing is rooted, unlocked or modified.
Does it survive updates?
Fire OS updates keep the apps. If the profile is reset or you get a new tablet, run the setup page again; with Plus that is one click.
Is a Google account needed?
The first time YouTube Kids opens it asks you to sign in with a Google account and to set up the child's profile inside YouTube Kids.
Their world stays yours.
The setup page talks to the tablet over USB, inside your browser. No account, no upload, no tracking.
